The Kentucky US Freedmen Coalition was established as a counter to the "Lost Cause" teachings as pushed by the sons & daughters of the Confederacy. Another function of the KUSFC will be assisting Freedmen families with lineage tracing. We intend to create an online database designed to document eligible beneficiaries of a federal & State Reparations program. Those who have researched their ancestry and located at least one American enslaved ancestor and have identified as Negro, black, colored or African American. On any official and legal documents for at least 10 years prior to a Reparations program, as what laid out in Dr. Darity Sandy and Kirsten Mullens groundbreaking book "From Here to Equality."
